A2 Partners with Grit City Wellness

“Concierge” Style Approach Makes Care More Accessible

A2 Physical Therapy in Tacoma is partnering with Grit City Wellness to offer physical therapy services, and even more access to care in Tacoma.

Grit City Wellness is an exciting new fitness, yoga, and recovery studio that is opening this fall at Point Ruston, and will offer a variety of services, including infrared saunas, cryotherapy, workout classes galore, and you guessed it, top-tier physical therapy services.

A2’s owner, Dr. Alika Antone, will be offering “concierge”-style services at Grit City Wellness (but don’t worry, it will continue to be business as usual at A2). Clients at Grit City will pay for services directly — not through their insurance.

“This is an exceptional solution for people who are seeking care with rehabilitation, fitness, and sports performance,” Antone said. “People with large deductibles and copays will find a lot of value in the concierge physical therapy model. This also works out well for those with an HSA/FSA program.” This fresh model of care will eliminate long waits for appointments and drawn-out insurance authorizations.  This type of subscription-based medical model will also allow for Pre-surgery services, General Physical Maintenance, Injury Prevention, and regular Wellness checks. This model is especially appealing for patients who enjoy on-demand care—as well as those who have become frustrated by insurance-based limitations or have conditions that frequently require new prescriptions to address new body parts. For those with high-deductible insurance plans or plans with very little PT coverage, concierge services can sometimes wind up costing the same or—in a handful of cases—even less than going through insurance.

As Grit City’s Premier PT Provider, Dr. Antone will bring his neurological approach to physical therapy to help people perform better and heal faster. Some of the cutting-edge technology Antone will offer will include Neufit Technology — including the NEUBIE  — a device that can enhance muscle activation, trim workout times, and maybe even help a sprained ankle heal faster through neuromuscular re-education. Antone was the first to bring the fascinating and effective technology to the state and A2, and now it will be available at Grit City. He also will offer other proven approaches to help people reach their goals, including IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization), and the Kinesio Taping Method (to help support and heal), regular physical exams to help people reduce injury risk and improve fitness, all supported by online training via the A2 Physical Therapy app, and more.

"Working with Kristi has been an amazing and rewarding experience. I started with the goal to lose weight and gain strength and after a few months she has helped me to understand what it means to live a healthy and well-rounded life. She not only provides motivation in the gym, but she is a great support system emotionally. She knows her stuff when it relates to exercises and the body. I appreciate how she brings variety to our workouts while also keeping us safe. If I could I would workout with Kristi multiple times per week."

"I came to A2 PT to assist in my recovery of a torn Achilles tendon. Not fully knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised. Using a combination of PT (for strengthening and stretching) and massage (for scare tissue Break up) I feel my recovery has been accelerated. The whole crew Alika, Kristi, and Sophia are very kind, spirited, and passionate about their jobs! On a personal note, the word massage should be removed from the phrase deep tissue massage. It is very misleading-but it does work!
Keep up the great work gang!!"

"I never thought I’d love PT, but now I do! I’m so appreciative that my first Pt experience has been with the most attentive and patient people possible. I’m thrilled the progress I’ve made and feel confident in my ability to continue improving at home. A huge thanks to the entire A2 team for being so welcoming and understanding. I truly can’t offer any recommendations, as you guys have a great thing going. (except for maybe more fruit infused water. Thanks again!"
