Dave’s Story

On May 9th 2020, Dave lifted a flower pot and heard something pop in his back. Three surgeries later, he was referred to A2PT for physical therapy. Dave first came to A2 using a walker and couldn't stand more than a few minutes. He spent the rest of his day in his recliner because of the terrible pain he was enduring.

Dave loved the atmosphere at A2 from the beginning. He said he heard "inclusive conversations going on around him that were just joyful." He liked Ben's PT diagnosis and how hard he made him work. Dave had been to a different PT clinic after an old knee surgery and said it just did not feel the same. He stressed, "A2 is about the people and is a brilliant place where they hire delightful staff that consistently make you feel welcomed, appreciated and genuinely want you to get better."

Positive, persisten & motivated are 3 words A2 staff use to describe Dave. "He's the perfect example of the patient that goes home and does the homework. He knows the value of PT and where he'd be today if he didn't do it" Ben (DPT).

A2 staff would use the Neufit technology for the neuropathy in Dave's feet and on his back. Dave has become a Neubie advocate, sharing his succuess with it friends/family and even found a clinic with Neufit technology in AZ to visit when traveling.

Last March, Dave participated in A2's 5K multiple sclerosis fundraiser and was able to walk the trails and cross the finish line!

Six months ago, Dave started personal training with Ryanne. His goal, to do three things regularly: golf, fish and travel. He always shows up ready to work. He tells Ryanne, "this is what it takes - to live this life I want to live." The work he has put in is inspiring and he is reaping the benefits. Dave just returned from Italy where he sipped his favorite wines in Florence and walked 14 to 15,000 steps everyday with his wife. He recently won a golf tournament in Arizona and is golfing 3 to 5 days a week. He was able to fish in Alask twice this last summer. He even does Pilates with his wife now.

Safe to say the recliner is gone! He's not done with his journey at A2 quite yet, and we couldn't be happier to have him around. He is A2PT family. Ryanne says, "Dave is the voice of optimism and looks at everything glass half FULL."

Cheers to Dave!

In his words, "What do you want today to look like?"

"Kristi’s weekly bootcamp has truly gotten me out of my comfort zone. I started attending with my family a few months ago. My first couple of times I was so ore! At times I became discouraged, but I just pushed through! I keep coming every week I am available. There’s no shaming if you must miss a week. You can even have someone go on your behalf if you miss a week. Since starting Kristi’s bootcamp I’ve said yes to other fitness opportunities I would have previously turned down. I now workout EVERYDAY and I’ve lost over 20 lbs since I first started coming. Thanks Kristi and to my family for introducing mw to this awesome bootcamp!"

"Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for all that you have done to help me get better. What I admire the most is that you have a kind, caring, outstanding staff that not only listens to what is going on with us but goes the extra mile to help each of us achieve our goals. Danny and Alika never, never, never gave up on me and helped me reclaim my life. I love all of you dearly."

"I’m really glad I am going to A2. My PT Danny is very knowledgeable and courteous. He pin-pointed the area affected in my hip and back. We are working to improve my strength, range of motion and ultimately lessen my pain with Danny’s wide range of stretches and strength techniques to improve my quality of life. So far in the three weeks that I’ve been enrolled I’m very impressed with A2 Physical Therapy. Thanks Danny!"
